  • Yes, Satan can do this. He already has complete control of a person in every way before they are saved. When you are not saved you "belong to your father the devil" And when you get saved you get adopted into the family of God."Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. " (John 8:44)

      Amen to that for sure!

There is no objective evidence that gods and devils exist.
  • Absolutely. But he can be driven out. I think that more accurately, right now, someone is possesed by a demon or demons, and not satan himself.
  • Absolutely not. Satan does not exist. I could be cynical and say he is an invention of the Christian church designed to instill fear in people and thereby allow the church control over them. Or, I could be charitable and say he is a mythological creature that some sad and deluded people today still believe in (see other answers for examples of this). Grow up. There is no Santa Claus, there is no Tooth Fairy and there is no Satan. Take responsibility for your own actions and hold others responsible for theirs. Dont subscribe to the dangerous fiction that the christian church promulgates. Dont be a victim.
  • No he cannot, that is if he does exist. The Human being experiences existential loneliness in turn needing a fear/love/hate friendship with the unseen witnesses of humankind (What ever we behold to be above). Satan is in fact our friend (I'm not a Satanist) as he represents our conscience showing us the true and most natural virtues of humankind, Pride, Strength, Curiosity, knowledge and Self elevation to better living. Think of all the wonderful things we could have created or create in general had it not been for the ultra conservative and primitive restraints of the fictitious self motivated Church's from the beginning of the Christian Era. Creativity and lack of Religious sparked wars were lush before the revolutionary Prophet Joshua (The Carpenter). Freedom of thought and self respect are the key secrets to the successful existance of our little world. Christians concern themselves all too much with the business of others, look within yourselves, Jesus said himself "your body is your temple" not others. Concentrate on your own self preservation and personal relationship with others outside of your own well established little world and you find happiness born out of ones own achievable freedom and will.
  • according to the Orthodox Catholic church as well as the Roman Catholic church it does within the past century they have spent alot of time into training priests soely as excorcist i guess it all depends on ones beleifs
  • Well, it depends what you believe in. Some might call it "losing your mind," and some might call it "possession."
  • yes but not spirit...but remember their is only one satan...+2
  • If any person is not doing exactly as Jesus taught, then they are working for Satan...no matter what they claim... Example...Did Jesus promote the use of statuary and icons??? No. So what is the RCC and others doing??? (Exodus 20:4, 5)

Very bold answer to speak of the RCC. Keep spreading the word. Ephesians 2:2 speaks of Satan and his followers who are known as the children of disobedience.
  • i think he can
  • There are many examples of demon possessed people in the Bible Books of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. The apostles not only preached about God’s Kingdom, they were given the power to cure the sick and expel demons. Many of the demon possessed acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah and showed fear toward his power over him. Chapter 8 of Matthew has an interesting account of 2 men possessed with thousands of demons. In answer to your question, yes, satan has the ability to possess a human.
  • The Bible talks about a demon-possessed man named Legion when Jesus restored him. This is found in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. In Acts 19:13-16, the scriptures mention exorcism. Verse 15 cannot be any clearer about the vagabond Jews who performed to cast out demons: "And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?"
  • When I was married my ex wife when she was angry and it took very little for her to anger in her eyes you could see Satan in them. He eyes turned black. A deep voice came from her as well. Thank goodness she is a member of the family of God now. Not long ago she was crying and sorry for how she did me. I told her she has already been forgiven and needs to let it go.
  • Yes...If he is invited...by means of seances etc...
  • There is nothing in the Scriptures to indicate that Satan and his demons can read our minds or thoughts. Rather, the implication of the Scriptures is that only God can read the mind of man: “Mere man sees what appears to the eyes; but as for Jehovah, he sees what the heart is.” Further we are told regarding God: “There is not a creation that is not manifest to his sight, but all things are naked and openly exposed to the eyes of him with whom we have an accounting.”—1 Sam. 16:7; Heb. 4:13. However, most likely the demons can, because of higher intelligence and better powers of observation, note what is in the mind of man because of his actions and facial expressions. Thus when a man goes contrary to Matthew 5:28 it may be apparent on his face, and so one could tell what is in his mind even though being unable to read it. So they may take advantage of weaknesses that one makes evident and tempt him to sin. This underscores the importance of right thinking and dependence upon Jehovah. When wrong thoughts enter the mind they should be rejected at once; they should not be entertained, opening the way to sin. (Jas. 1:14, 15) Rather, draw close to God through prayer and meditation on his Word, because in this will be found protection against wrong desires and against the temptations of the Devil and his demons.—Jas. 4:7, 8; Phil. 4:8, 9.

If you read the question "properly, it is not asking if Satan and his demons can read our minds or thoughts. Nobody but God can. (1 Kings 8:39) The question is asking: "Can Satan possess a human's body and mind?" The key word is: possess. By definition, the word possess means: "(of a demon or spirit, especially an evil one) have complete power over (someone) and be manifested through their speech or actions." https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/possess
  • If one is weak..... and does not have Knowledge of Christ Consciousness within..... then yes.
  • IIE, satans do not exist, so they cannot actually do anything. If God was benevolent, he would not have allowed The Satan to corrupt people.
  • Since the time of Jesus Christ being on the Earth the devil and the demons do not generally possess a able-bodied able-minded person. Since the time of Jesus Christ it seems that the devil and his demons can only possess your mind or your body if you give a deliberate permission to the demons to do so. This includes all wicked Acts sexual crimes like fornication adultery and homosexuality. The use of drugs that's an open invitation hear Satan nice Satan come live here with me.
