  • I don't believe so, the same as I don't believe one could prove that God does not exist. It seems to me that is what faith is all about for those who do believe...having faith and following your heart without any 'hard' evidence to do so.
  • Is there really a need for it...do we have to know all the answers....maybe we should just have a little bit of faith...
  • Not really no. I mean, which one? Seriously - everyone just assumes the judeo-christian yahweh/jehova when asking this sort of question. There are literally hundreds of thousands of 'gods' around - many of them are the One True One too....
  • god exist! just look all around you. god is every were? say: HE IS GOD THE ONE AND ONLY. GOD, THE ETERNAL, ABSOLUTE; HE BEGETTETH NOT, NOR IS HE BEGOTTEN; AND THERE IS NONE LIKE UNTO HIM. (HOLY QURAN) SURA IKHLAS.
  • yep, heres one i gave a friend of mine: --- an argument for the existence of a single eternal infinite personal (as in "having personality") God.. k, well here goes: time is regressively finite, you cannot go infinitely into the past because to reach "now" there must have been a finite number of events or else we would never be "now". therefore there must have been a first event, and that event requires matter. the law of non-self creation, or "ex nihilo nihil fit" ("from nothing comes more nothing") there must be an agent outside of the limits of space and time, ie infinite and eternal, with the ability to create that is responsible for that first event. this is who/what we define as "God".. so not only does God exist, God MUST exist, due to the existence of everything around us. the question is more a matter of who/what we think this agent is. pantheism doesnt work because everything cannot be God, since that would limit God to being bound by the limits of creation.. ie, space and time, and by definition and requirement God cannot be. therefore while creation comes from God, creation cannot be God. deism actually doesnt work either, but is the safest bail out for those who wish to reject the existence of the god of any of the monotheistic religions. it doesnt work because it states that God "wound up" creation like a clock, and then let it go off on its own without intervention. this doesnt work due to many reasons, such as chaos theory, newtons second law of thermodynamics (entropy).. its funny, even evolution would require a capable guiding/controlling intelligent entity(or entities).. but forget evo for now (im a 6-day creationist, though not a 24-hour day, since a day in the bible is not limited to 24hours) polytheism doesnt work either unless its multiple persons in a single God, due to the definition and requirement once again of God being infinite.. so it once again falls upon who you understand God to be.. so for example the doctrine of trinity (which is probably the most unexplainable one christianity has to offer) is viable, due to there being only one God, though manifested in 3 persons (the bible doesnt talk about one God in 3 manifestations, but 3 distinct persons within a single God) but if we were to have multiple gods, then which is the infinite one? which is the creator? and if any are "mortal", they no longer are infinite or eternal.. and hence fall out of the definition of God.. so it must only be one.. as for the personal part of God, ie, that He must be a personal God, can be argued due to the fact that creation required design (creativity) and therefore intelligence.. and intelligence and creativity require some form of personality ("personalness") this due to the decisions involved in creating creation the way it turned out, and it cant be claimed to have been random, since if it was, then that would rule out the infiniteness (in this case as manifested in omnipotence, or at least the ability to create). so we have an infinite eternal personal God with the ability to create, and who is separate from His creation.. this leaves us with some form of monotheism.. such as the abrahamic faiths (islam, judaism, christianity) and then it becomes a matter of seeking out which god it is that God is.. if indeed God is personal, it would be natural to see or expect some form of interaction with creation (other than maintaining it, ie keeping it from destroying itself for example) and thats where revelation kicks in.. of course, thats a bit trickier since thats where the logical and drier part of the proof ends and faith begins.. if God has chosen to reveal Himself, then how? well people who claim to receive messages from God are referred to as "prophets" and the bible says that the sign of a prophet is one of 100% inerrancy when speaking on behalf of God.. which means that we can go through the process of elimination to find which prophet or group of prophets seem to exhibit inerrancy.. which means that the catholic church, jehovas witnesses and mormons as well as a bunch of other fringe groups are out for example. not sure what prophecies islam deals with, but for sure it defines itself as the opposite of christianity by explicitly stating that "allah did not beget a son nor was he begotten" so we can eliminate one by proving the other.. in Jesus alone (one quick google shows that) 360+ prophecies found in the old testament were fulfilled, of which 109 could have been fulfilled only by Jesus. so therefore, given the historicity of the person of Jesus, that proves in one fell swoop that the God revealed in the old testament is the true God, and we can therefore accept the new testament as fulfillment and therefore truth (unless we can find that errancy in either part.. which to this day i have yet to find) and that therefore eliminates islam. on a personal note, however, i can tell you i have seen the bible proved to be true in my life through my faith (ie trust) in what is there written, and how dramatically my life has changed since that day i made the decision to give my life to Him who gave His life for me. remember how i used to graffiti all my notebooks with "life sucks", my self destructive manic depression, and all manner of other problems i exhibited? well, that stuff is now nowhere to be seen.. i enjoy life like crazy, no matter the circumstance (i have stories there too) and i can truly divide my life in half on that day in september 2001, when i decided to repent from my sins and accept that i was a sinner, and received that forgiveness through Jesus' atoning death on the cross. you see, the bible says the only thing that separates us from God is sin, the bad things we do. while in that state, God does not hear us, and we cannot have a relationship with Him. its only when those sins are paid in full that we can
  • No it is not possible to prove it just like it is not possible to disprove the existence of God. I personnaly don't believe in God but i would never say somebody was wrong for having faith. Faith means to believe without proof and i would hope a believer would never tell me i was wrong for not believing.
  • If you prove Jesus existed, did what He is recorded as doing, died on the cross and rose from the dead, you have the proof. But, as Jesus himself said "Even if someone returned from the dead, they would not believe." People will reject the evidence, no matter how good it is, if their hearts are hard.
  • No. That's where faith comes in. I think its purposely that it cannot be proven. You must believe.
  • yes, and i have many times. if you would like me to prove it to you, please send me $19.95 to this pay pal account......
  • There could be a way, somewhere within the realms of the unknown. But, as of now, there is no way. If there actually was, someone would have found it.
  • It is only possible to prove that God exists to yourself... but not to others. Monks, Mystics and Yogis have been doing it for centuries. It is called "cognition" or "revelation." A verse in the Psalms explains how it is done: "Be still and know that I am God." This will explain the whole thing in more detail... and in terms of the "Treasure hid in a field" that Jesus was talking about. http://gospelenigma.com
  • Yes. We prove that x exists, by showing that there is at least one proposition that can be confirmed about x. If you can show, demonstrate, that there is at least one truth about your god, then that god must exist....can you??
  • You should know that it is impossible to prove a negative. Nobody should have to tell you that
  • Probably easier than you can prove He doesn't...
  • No, becuase if it was possible, then it would have been proven and everyone would be Christian.
  • “Are there good reasons for belief in God? Many philosophers, myself included, agree with Alvin Plantinga that religious belief can be properly basic, that is, reasonable even when it is not based on any reasons that could be employed in an argument. Nevertheless, this does not imply that good reasons for believing in God cannot be given. What kind of evidence should we expect to find, if God is real, and if He has provided evidence of His reality? I believe that two characteristics would be found in any such evidence. First, I would expect the evidence to be widely available. If God exists, and it is important for us humans to know that, then we would not expect the evidence for His reality to be available only to a small esoteric group. Nor would we expect the evidence to be such that a Ph.D. in philosophy would be required to grasp it. Secondly, I would expect the evidence to be the kind of evidence which could be doubted or explained away by someone who did not want to believe in God. Someone who is forced to be aware of God's reality might very well want to serve and obey God for less than noble motives, since God is supposed to be very powerful and very knowledgeable. Traditionally Christians have taught that God wants people to serve Him out of love, not fear or greed. So it would not be surprising that the evidence for God, though widely available, is also relatively easy to dismiss, write-off, or explain away if a person wishes to do this. The Mystery of Persons and Belief in God Page 1 of 11 http://www.origins.org/articles/evans_mysterypersons.html 3/12/2007 It is this last factor which doubtless is the reason why religious people put so much emphasis on faith as the precondition for religious knowledge. In the case of religion, the personal condition of the knower has a great impact on the knowledge to be gained. The person who wants to know can find evidence; the person who wants to be ignorant of God can be successful as well.”
  • It depends on whether you accept the evidence or not. There is plenty of legal evidence, but many people reject it out of hand, often based on some shaky reasoning themselves. If you reject the evidence based on speculation, then no, it can't be proved. But if you examine the evidence as presented in the Bible, there is strong enough evidence to meet the burden of proof. As far as scientific evidence goes, science doesn't have the range or scope to either prove or disprove the existence of God. It just isn't humble enough to admit it.
  • Does it matter: if he doesn't exist I understand the World; if he does exist I dont understand God. I would prefer it if God didn't exist. If he does exist what an under achiever he's turned out to be.
  • Who create this universe and all living creature ?... can man do it ?
  • An old debate. Both sides have agreed that you can not prove, nor disprove any god's existence, but WHO CARES, it is very easy to prove that ALL religions are man made, a very anthropological trait of most human groups. If you can not prove the existence of all gods (an absurdity) how come anyone claim HIS or HER particular god does exist? You can also prove that, if gods exist, they are very human because they do EVOLVE and possess the characteristics we want them to have.
  • It is probably possible, but no-one has done it yet.
  • Well, aren't we jumping the gun here? Whoever said he existed? And since when he helped us? Oh and to christians, u can't impose what ur beliefs r to me.
  • To a theist! ;-)
  • You can prove it to your own satisfaction. I have. But proof proceeds logically from a set of basic assumptions. To prove anything to someone else, all the assumptions used in the proof must also be held by the person you wish to prove it to. Since the assumption that God does NOT exist is often one of the basic assumptions believed by an atheist, you will never be able to prove it to them.
  • not in me
  • believe me if there was a way that we knew of it would have already been done. Until then, there is no proof and no way of proving.
  • your living in the proof
  • Alright, i'm going to explain to you a foolproof way to figure out if god exists, and to capture him. First, set up a really large cage surrounding your mothers bed. Put an invisibility cloak over it. When you wake the next morning, go to her room. If he exists, he should be there banging your mom.
  • I'd stake my mortgage against a ghost story turning out to be a serious runner!!!!!
  • Why do people ask the same question which has been asked for centuries, with no result? The answer is, and always has been, no.
  • Its possible to individual people. But the world as a whole will never accept His existence.
  • Yes, if you can prove 'inexistance' of him
  • It's possible to find out where everything came from? Watch video.
  • The existence of God is absolutely unprovable. Anyone who thinks they can prove it to themselves is talking about belief not fact, not evidence, not reality.
  • No. Plain and simple, no.
  • If a god exists, it would be (hypothetically) possible to prove his existence
  • I do not believe so.
  • I am a Christian. I am not ashamed of this, but proud would not be the right word either. I think "thankful" is a better word. I refuse to be drawn into an argument about this today, because debating God's existance is for many just an excuse to try and insult believers and inflate their own egos, so any insults and responses to this comment will go unanswered. Just be content to give me negative points, curse me or whatever, I really don't care. I'm providing a link I wish some of you would read though, and I'd especially hope you read the part about why atheist devote so much time disputing God. It was something I'd always wondered. Ok, fire away, and I hope you get in some real zingers if it makes you feel good. http://www.everystudent.com/features/isthere.html?gclid=CPPxx8aXlJkCFSQhDQodKm1GZQ
