I am the daughter of Rose who was the wife of Bill, my step-dad, Bill Hunter, who wrote the song "My Wife is Bingo Crazy". He wrote the song because my mother used to go to bingo every night and return saying that she "was just one off". Bill, (who brought me up since I was about 5 and to all intents and purposes was my dad) was a fanatical ukulele banjo player and sang George Formby songs as well as penning many of his own. He was well known in our area and played to many people on day trips and in the local workies clubs. He featured on "Thats Your Life" (in fact our sitting room did). The song in question was played on "Opportunity Knocks" songwriters competition in the 70's (if my memory serves me well) where he met Hughie Green. Sadly Bill died some time ago but his daughter and my very close sister(also Rose)has the original written version as well as many of his other self penned songs. Funnily enough, I have begun to play the ukulele recently myself. I understand that the person who recorded the song lived in Wargrave, Berkshire (I was told this by Bill).
