  • Old scanners can pick up old phones. Just get a new phone.
  • I don't think scanners pick up phones anymore. I know my home phone has some sort of technology that doesn't allow it, and I'm sure the cell phones would be the same way.
  • Yes scanners can pick up cordless phones if they are 900 or 2.4 GHZ and I do believe that cell phones can be picked up as well if it is an old cell phone. Newer cell phones do have the option for a standard frequency or voice privacy. Cordless that are 5.8 or 6.0 GHZ are less likely to be picked up by a scanner. Some cordless phones may even offer voice privacy. However, to be on the safe side your best bet would be to have a land line for those certain conversations that you do not wish for any one to hear.
