  • Australia is termed "Down Under" due to it's location on the globe (when north is up). It is percieved to be at the bottom of the world. Hence "down under".
  • It is referred to as that because it is just fun to say! " How is it going down unda'?" That is so much funner to say than, " How is it going in Australia?"
