  • Air conditioners and dehumidifiers act in a similar way. Air "Conditioning" isn't just a matter of cooling a room or several. It also removes excess moisture to create a more comfortable environment. The main difference between the two is that air conditioners are designed to cool the air at the same time whereas a dehumidifier typically just keeps the humidity at a comfortable level. I live in a basement apartment and when the upstairs tenant turns on the central air (just the fan part works), it still gets cold and I need to put on long sleeves. This may look out-of-place as summertime attire, but we do what we have to do. Wearing a blanket in a room with air conditioning isn't so unusual.

  • I goto heaps of buildings that have ducted aircons with, a fat turn out in a window office aircon running flat out and all the girls in the corridor (same ac system) wearing jackets. Lots of fat people shouldn't be allowed to touch the set point. Suggest a new system that will work properly these same fat pos cant reach the wallet to do anything about. Majority of fat corporate people 50+ are nothing but pieces of turd from my dealing with them. Talk about being energy efficient is lip service only as soon as I give these people A quote for a replacement system nothing happens until it breaks again and they call to get it fixed hence why I think they are tightarses that waste other peoples money .
