  • Not likely. A stroke is caused by a blockage in the cardiovascular system, either in an artery or in the brain. Blockages are sometimes referred to as blood clots and are preventable by drinking adequate water on a regular basis. Water makes up around 90% of the blood and when you maintain a dehydrated state, it becomes thicker and the thicker blood is more apt to clot. Water is a natural blood thinner.
