  • yeah baby! I got called off before I finished answering. I had Thai food last weekend. It was great! I have a large jar of ground red pepper I add to everything and I grew habanero peppers for a while. I usually mix them with my mayo for sandwiches. They're too hot to just munch on. I've also bought a handful at the Mexican supermarket and blended them with a little vinegar to make my own habanero sauce (without salt/sodium). But if you mess with them wear gloves, or you will have them under your nails for a long time and could accidentally get it in your eyes or mouth.

Thanks for your input , I appreciate your kindness :)
  • I loved to eat spicy foods when I was in my 30's. However, in my 50's I could no longer tolerate the same spicy food that I ate when I was young. Over the years I have learned to reduce the degree of spiciness whenever I cook.

Good point! I'm noticing some stomach upset and have cut back. I didn't put ground red pepper on my cheese curls this time. But if they're not hot its not worth it anymore. :( Oh well.

I like sweet, too, but especially chocolate. Don't know if I'd like spicy chocolate, though.

Spicy chocolate is really good! Incidentally, the original chocolate recipe for Aztec Xocolatl (the oldest known chocolate recipe) contains cocoa and hot peppers. It's really only been the last 10 years or so that mainstream brands like Lindt have been marketing chocolate bars with chilies in them. My personal favourite is the Chuao "Firecracker" - it has chilies and pop rocks in it.

Pop rocks are fun! Maybe I'll give spicy chocolate a try!
