      Depends on the age of the child. A young child's fingerprints can be altered over time due to "wear and tear" on the fingerprints.
  • In this scenario there would be no fingerprints or DNA on file, no birth records, no school records, no documentation, no proof of existence whatsoever. This child was born off the grid, and his mother had her identity stripped from her. So the police have a challenging case. How would they try to solve it?
  • Court would appoint a guardian for the child if the parents couldn't be positively identified. Child services would most likely hang on to the kid or foster care.
