  • Never do hear gunshots. But 3 or 4 months ago there was a shooting a couple of houses from me and I did not hear it. I only saw several police cars on the corner. Found out later what it was about.
  • Never, but then I don't live in the USA

      The question wasn't USA-specific.
  • Please, I have sporadic PTSD over my last neighborhood, don't remind me. Living in fear 24/7 took its toll, without a doubt.

Yeah, been there. It took many years for me to not dive behind the furniture (inside) or hit the dirt (outside) at backfires. It took me years to get over it but, in time, I did. Good luck to you.

I suffer from PTSD as well. Any unexpected loud noise will cause an adrenaline dump. But I don't fear death I welcome it. You're both in my prayers.

I don't have PSTD, but I do have my moments. I was involved in a car accident in 1998 that was fatal to one of the passengers in the car I was in. Ever since, when I hear a car horn nearby, it has had a bad effect on me. The problem isn't as bad as it used to be - I managed to get over it for the most part. But it's taken more than 20 years to get to where I am today.
  • 10/19/17 Quite often but I am rural, probably could be called "in the woods" and there's a lot of hunting. I do have 4 neighbors, since this is a house w/ 3 apartments underneath it. Other than that, within a mile I think there are 3 dwellings. Dunno if where I live could be referred to as a neighborhood. I'll take this any day over gang central, where I lived years ago and had lots of scarier gunfire.

Here it's only about every 3 to 6 months.
  • In my area no but across the city in some of the rough areas will occasionally hear them at night.
  • In my area now, depends on the time of year. My last neighborhood? Every damn day.
  • The only time I ever hear gun shots is new years
  • i never do unless theyre doing it and i think its fireworks
  • Twice a day. Three times on a Sunday.

I miss you when you're gone.
  • Once for sure in the last 3 years. I thought it was fireworks since it was July, until the police showed up
  • I don't know if they're gunshots. but once every few months.
  • At my home, I hear gunshots just about every year around hunting season.
  • Luckily that isn't something that happens around here.
  • Daily. There's a shotgun range less than a mile.
  • Never. That's one of the perks about living in a Conservative town (decent-size, county seat). Now that I think about it, I've lived here for the past 7 years and there has never been a shooting that I can remember. Yes, we have Liberals here too, but there have never been clashes between the groups - we live and let live. The nearest we came to "protesters" was a small group of 4 or 5 brainwashed millennials was walking around the downtown area where I live yelling stuff in support of Black Lives Matter (they weren't even black). A little advisement about how this was a Conservative town and how their actions were begging for trouble got rid of them in a hurry.
  • Never in the 60 years that I've lived in my neighborhood
  • Pretty often, There is a sheriff's target range about a mile away, and people often go out to the BLM land and shoot targets or clay pigeons here.
  • Often, I live near a shooting range.
  • for a couple of hours every 2nd sunday when the gun club goes to their shooting range just out of town
