Have you ever been diagnosed with breast cancer?
My mother passed away from cancer that started in her breast. But I hear people diagnosed with even stage 4 breast cancer are living longer because of the new medications. Ladies don't forget to do your self exams and get your mammograms

Three actual scenarios. Friend one diagnosed, used all natural remedies, got worse and died Another friend stage 2, all natural:no chemo, no radiation, no drugs and only a lumpectomy after three years stable. And the third, diagnosed4 years ago, did regiment of traditional, then fine...until last fall. Diagnosed with same type spread to knee and hip Radiation, chemo, then chemo again, and again then hospice. When and how to act may vary greatly from woman to woman.

No but have been scared one time when I was about 11 years young and the doctor sort of chuckled because he already knew it was not a cancer lump. It was gone within a week after that too. Some people don't think men or boys can get breast cancer. But I had a friend who, when he was 16, almost died of it. Surgery for him was a success.

My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer in February of this year. She had a mastectomy one month later. What was most frustrating was our physician (we've had the same one since we were babies) kept telling her that she was too young to have breast cancer when she kept coming to him with symptoms. It took him much to long to finally agree to send her for a mamo. After that I switched doctors. I was lucky enough for my wife's doctor to take me on as a patient. My new doctor sent me for a mamo gram immediately. Thankfully I'm good, nothing to report. But watching my sister go through that was terrible, it was scary. Everone should check themselves regularly and if you feel something is not right, don't let someone try to convince you otherwise or dismiss you. There is no age for breast cancer. It affects young and old.

I wrote this question before my diagnosis. I was diagnosed Oct 2. consulting with the surgeon on 10th. They said they caught it very early and very small. This could only have been found by mammography so be sure and get the ladies' pics taken regularly!
