  • I have a 3mo old and he's on a pretty regular schedule. He's a monster at eating... he'll eat 7oz about every 3-4hrs. DONT quote me on it being the "average" schedule. He loves food too much to go to long without it. i think the average is 4 to 6 hrs for 3mo though. And around 6oz is to be fed? Just go with what your babies telling you. if she wants to eat every three hours give her the food. If shes only eating a few ozs trying giving her a lil extra to make her a lil fuller. If she only wants to eat every 6hrs let her. they know their wants and needs better than anyone!
  • Just because in USA parents of newborns only given three months (even less), it is probably a good idea to have your infant on a schedule by that age, especially if s/he is about to start day-care or to stay with a babysitter since you'll be going to work. That said, however, you have to let your baby set that schedule. Study his/her intervals, see how long/short s/he goes without eating, than average it out. If you notice s/he makes one big break during the day, attempt to wake her up (gently!!!), so that she'll take his/her "big break" during the night. Of course, you have to be somewhat flexible - s/he is only 3-mo old! I am a first-time mother, and feedings at 6 am, 9:30am, 1pm, 4:30pm 8pm and 11:30pm work for both my baby and me. Make sure s/he's gaining weight properly thought. Good luck & I hope it helps!
