Is there a future for a like button for comments?

I would like to see a "like" button for comments. Unfortunately many here don't use the "like" buttons that we already have.

Comments seem like more about conversation than about something you'd "like."

Ice man I've seen many brilliant comments that were well deserving of a "like", whether I chose to enter the conversation, or quietly observe from the sideline. -
Roaring When there was a points system, questions, answers and comments that were interesting and/or relevant, funny, witty etc could be found due to their point accumulations. So after reading any good question or answer I click on the thumbs-up.
