  • They're almost always in first person's perspective. Good question :)
  • Many times we find ourselves participating in the dream as one of the dramatis personae .Which means we dream in a third person's perspective,if I have understood the question well. This is an interesting question indeed.
  • Most of the time its First person then sometimes it goes to a third person view then back to first person. Unique question.
  • First let me say thank you for all of your answers. I myself have only dreamed in first person's perspective. I have never recalled a time when I have dreamed in second or third person's perspective. In fact, memories in general for me are always in first person because it is virtually impossible for me to see my own physical self image in my mind's eye.
  • First person for me. and lately i dream everynight!
  • Well... according to your definition of the third person's perspective, most of my dreams aren't any of these. But if your definition of the third person's perspective included you not being an actual part of the dream, then most of my dreams are in the 3rd person. My dreams seem to always involve me (completely emotionally unattached to the dream) watching a character in some weird situation... it's kind of weird, especially considering I never watch TV.
  • first person and its never exciting. Last night I was vacuuming and playing with the dog. Exciting!!
  • i've dreamt in first and third person's perspectives before...it's quite strange when it's third person because you're watching yourself and you know it's you but you can't affect what's going on...
  • Im not sure
  • I use to dream with credit's at the end.
  • First person always.
  • I almost exclusively dream in third person where I can see myself. I can only think of maybe two or three dreams that were in first person.
  • there are times when i'm myself, and times where i'm not really a person at all. i think that would be first and third. i've never been another person in my dream when i was already in the dream (like in somebody elses body when my body is another person or character)
  • All. Not at once ofcourse. But sometimes the view suddenly changes and I wont be myself anymore but a friend who was walking next to me.
  • i dream in third person every night. but my conscience is still there, in my head.. i hold complete control over my words and actions, even others words and actions at times. but its like as if i were awake, not having to think to myself 'alright, walk..' but instead simply intending to do something and then doing so. i have had no training or development in lucid dreaming, altho i do accidently every single night since i can remember... can anyone tell me why?! i didnt realize until now that these dreaming traits were abnormal, and actually sought after.
  • Mostly 3rd person but some of the others mixed in there as well.
  • I've dreamed in all, First Person is the most frequent, But I will often dream as something attacking myself (I see my sleeping body helpless, and within the dream i am in some way scaring myself) And I will also dream as if I am an overseer, watching all the action. Sometimes I will switch POVs during dreams, and other times i will keep the same POV.
  • First and third
  • Yes!....;-D... . . .
  • Sometimes first and occasionally third. I can't imagine what dreaming in second person perspective would look like. An odd quirk though, I look different in my dreams.
  • I usually dream in third person. I always thought it would be so cool to dream in second. I only dream in first every once in a while. Those usually freak me out. Thank you for this question. My friend and I were just talking about this the other day.
