As of April 22, 2009, you can legally buy the Plan B, or "morning after," emergency contraception pill over the counter if you're 17 years of age or older. You must have proof of age in order to legally purchase Plan B over the counter. If you are under 17 or do not have proof of age, you must have a prescription.
