In Tennessee, as in all states, you can file Chapter 7 bankruptcy every eight years, a change made in the 2005 Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act. You can file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, though---which sets up a repayment system to allow you to pay back your debts---as often as needed, though you can only have one case open at a time.
