How can I recover a file that I saved over something else?

So basically, I was doing some college work at home. I sent a file to myself from college and worked on it at home. I completed this bit of work and I saved it on my computer and re-uploaded it to my college computer. The next day I did a different part of college work and saved it over the other work I did for example the yesterday one. I then uploaded to my college account computer. So today I went to go find it and I realised that I saved it over it and I looked on previous files and there were none. I found the college work but that was an uncompleted file and I did complete it at home. Do you think I can get this completed file back? I looked on previous versions and all on my computer and I cant see anything. I have a large amount of work on this so I would really appreciate this if someone could help me.

Go back to the computer onto which you saved the file, and upload it with a different name.
