Not technically, depending on why you own them, but illegal child pornography means photos of real children having stuff done to them that's totally evil, or being dressed in ways and doing stuff that's inappropriate. If you have that on your hardrive or in the house somewhere, knowing full well these are real kids and you're not doing anything about it, that's pretty inconsiderate, especially if it's someone who has a better grasp on their mentality than the pedophile, who is often sick in the head. Not to be confused with preteen porn where the stars are all actually overage.

No, it doesn't. If I put child porn on your computer, are you then automatically a pedophile? If you were a 15 year old girl, and you took a naked photo of yourself, are you then a pedophile? What about if what you have is bordering on child porn? What if you're a parent, and you took photos of your children in the bath, or at the beach in their bathers? For you, this isn't child porn, but others much consider it child porn if it was in a different context... for sure those photos would be considered child porn if they were found on a computer of a pedophile, along with other, harder images... so are they child porn if a parent possesses them? Would that make these parents pedophiles?? No. Having child porn doesn't make you a pedophile, just like having drugs doesn't make you a drug addict, and having a gun doesn't make you a gun enthusiast.
