i honestly don't know what it is with wearing white and easter/memorial day/labor day. can someone explain it to me? (plz?)

Strictly, white should only be worn from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Lately it has been stretched so that it's O.K. to wear white after the first day of Spring up until the first day of Fall. The reason? It's got to do with style,(of which most Americans have precious little). It's like licking your knife after spreading someting with it. It's simply barbaric!

No I don't hold that opinion. There are no hard fast fashion rules. They change like fashion does; with every season.

Yes, white after Memorial Day! Boaters for men. Sersucker suits. Also, drink white after memorial Day--Gin, Vodka, Tequila. Drink Brown after Labor Day. Scotch, Bourbon... Keep this in mind.

White after Memorial Day is right. See MaineMoody's answer. Add to it: buttonaires, colorful handkerchiefs folded in jacket pocket. Hip flasks. Spats if walking on country roads. Big toothy smiles always! Sporty bamboo cane.

If the weather is good enough who is to stop you wearing white or any other colour that you choose. I have not yet heard of any law that states you will be prosecuted.
