I read somewhere (and can't remember where) that the necklace was a gift from actress Marion Lorne, who played her bumbling and forgetful "Aunt Clara" on the series. In real life, Marion & Elizabeth were the very best of friends, and Elizabeth often looked up to her as both a mentor and as a real "aunt" figure. When Marion died in 1968, just 10 days before she was to be presented with an Emmy® award, Elizabeth accepted the award in her behalf. +5
