  • are you tryin to say its cheaper to rent a home in your local ?? Oops...
  • It is always cheaper to rent than to buy.
  • hahahaha I live in southern California!! RENT!!!!
  • It depends on what you mean by cheaper? If you are referring to monthly payments, they are lower when you make a large enough down payment. For instance, I have bought a four bedroom home, with 25% down, my payments are 1,200 a month (covers insurance and taxes). To rent the same home I would have to pay $1,400 a month, and I would never see a penny of that back. If I sell my home, I will get back the entire down payment, plus by saving the extra $200 a month I wasn't paying in rent, I would buy a nicer, bigger, newer house. I put 25% down on the rental home I own, and my payments are $950. I could rent out the three bedroom home for around $1,100, and make some money, plus get the entire down payment back when I sell it. P. S. The market for selling houses is down now, and if I had to sell, I would not get my entire down payment back, but by waiting for the next up turn, I will come out ahead.
  • the monthly payments for rent is cheaper. but in the end you are paying off some one elses house. When you own a place you haev all the bills, and the maintenance and the rates... ah itis expensive! some times i wish we rented a place... but this will one day be all ours =] the house we own is 630 a fortnight payments for the mortgage.. to rent it out we would probably get about 200 week. so 400 a fortnight
  • Why rent when you can own? You gain assets!!
  • Rent is cheaper short term, and buying is cheaper in the long run.
  • In my local area.....Buying is cheaper. My mortgage, when I had one, was under $300 a month.....to rent, the average is $350.
  • TO BUY. ONE $139,000.00 FOR THE QUANITY OF LAND AND HOME WITH LOW TAXES AND INS. IN SOUTH BEND, WASHINGTON NEAR THE WALLAPA RIVER FOR FISHING OR BOATING.
  • rent is always kind of high in the suburbs of a larege city~in the city we could get an apartment or even a whole house but in the long run~ we value our privacy but if I lived by myself it probably would be in an apartment or a condo~this would be cheaper
  • Probably still cheaper to rent in the LA area.
  • Where I live its cheaper to own than rent, I pay $1200 (taxes and insurance included) a month if I was to rent the same sized house that allowed pets I would be paying $1,300-$1600.
