• the reflect the light back to the eye. the diamond needs to be of a good cut which will make light fire back like magic.
  • Diamond has a very high refractive index, if the diamond is quite clear, white light (especially broad spectrum, like sunlight, and bright incandescent lights) will break up into many colors as it reflects off of the internal facets, and then refracts back out of the diamond toward your eyes.
  • When light enters, it goes from rarer to denser. But the internal reflection takes place when it exits from the diamond, from denser to rarer.
