  • Yes. Instead of a lady, she now becomes just another woman. Have you ever noticed the missing tattoos in magazine ads? The tattoos are distracting. you notice the tattoos and not the product they are advertising. Tattoos on a woman is a personal choice, just like smoking. All i ask is that my dinner out not be served by a person with arm to arm tattoos. it just gives the impression of dirty food.
  • I dont think so. My mother is so classy and she has 2 tatts. Of course they are not of anything that is downgrading but she has them and people have the utmost respect for her.
  • Only if she has bad taste in ink.
  • To me YES! In MY opinion it makes her look like she needs a bath.
  • Not at all... class is not decided on the basis of whether or not a person previously opted to get tattoos. I don't think tattoos are particuarly classy, in fact I think they are decidedly unclassy - however a woman can still have class despite her tattoos.
  • It depends what the tattoo is. Too many of them definately are not good.
  • No, she can still be classy.
  • 2nd Answer. I have always associated tattoos with convicts and ex-convicts. you know, "love" on one hand "hate" on the other. I really have a hard time breaking that connection from the bad guys to the good guys. I know its just a fad, but tattoos are forever. My daughter has a tattoo of a white tiger on her left ankle. she chose this location, so if she changed her mind, she could cover it with a sock. i thought that was very smart of her. not all over her body, thank God.
  • I would have to say yes. I dont care for tattoos on women. They make a woman appear less feminine. As though they should be working as carney's. You know, running the tilt-a-whirl at the traveling carnival. Case in point...Say your going to a company event which requires you to dress up in a tux and she in a evening dress. Usually the evening dresses are short with arms exposed. If she walks through the door with flaming skulls down her forearms...Im sorry but your going to get a few stares all night. You also will have the appearance of dating trashy women. Your crediability among your coworkers goes down a few notches. Appearances mean alot in this life. Treat your body like a temple.
  • I have 7. lol... You decied!
  • It all depends on perspective, I wouldn't judge on this alone. :0)
  • I hate to say it, but yes. (my wife has 3 tattoos and I have 6) She knows that I don't like tattoos on women. She keeps pushing me for her to get some more and I keep telling her no.
  • +5 This answer is for me and me alone so there is no need to downrate me. Yes, I would never have one. I am 56 and from the generation that only motorcycle men and military men got a tat. I could not bear having one
  • Y'know, Zack, I first didn't care for them at all, but I think I've been desensitized. I guess what's good for the goose is good for the gander. To sum it up, not really. +
  • I think it depends on the tattoos. Sleeves on women looks strange to me. As does the current fad of women tattooing their upper chests. However, something personally meaningful (as in, not a "I'll have the Number thirty-seven" tattoo) on a shoulder blade or something like that can be attractive.
  • Yes, I think that is the case. Example: Angelina Jolie.
  • if she's got a nice tattoo on her back just a little bit above her ass, i'd hit it! +3
  • Might be that she is less classy but she gains points on appearing sexy and modern. I would get one if my skin were younger.....
  • depends on how many she has, the design and where they are located on her body.....
  • I don't know if she is less classy, but I am generally not at all attracted to women with tattoos; can't place my finger on it. But, whatever floats their boat. :) +++
  • they are not nice on anyone,,,,i wonder how many people that have them regret having them now,,,!!
  • I don't think that it's anything to do with class. I have 4 tats and I think that I'm just as good as anyone else.
  • It has zero to do with class and everything to do with taste. How do they look on the lady? I saw a woman who had eyebrows tatooed on her face that were two large rectangles to do with the gang she was affiliated with. She looked horrible and stupid as hell. I am working with two weirdos a mother and a daughter. Both have the ugliest tatoos imaginable all over themselves. One has big fat arms and she has a tatoo of some cartoon duck that takes over the whole arm, and it looks like some rank amateur did it. The mother has these god awful bright colored drawings all over her big legs. That shows no class and no taste. Kat Von D has lots of tatoos but she looks awesome.
  • I have never liked tattoos on women. I guess that makes me a prude. Where I was raised only bikers, pirates, service men and prisoners sported tattoos.
  • I just have a tiny little you on my ankle.. that just says........Me That's so I don't forget who I am.. LOL!!! :)
  • Nope :) Not to me.
  • I dont think it makes you less classy. Who cares what people think, if you want a tattoo just go for it. I have 3 tattoos and I like them, don't really care for other peoples opinions as it is something I wanted myself.
  • I believe most people, including myself, would say yes.
  • hey now!
  • Wow Im not classy in the first place, to me classy means self centred and up your own ass so if me having my tattoos makes me less classy then Good I look damn good in my little black dress and my heels even with my tattoo The way I see it... You dont like it? dont look at me
  • I think that, in general, most women that seem to have tattoos lack class but that has has nothing to do with the ink. Too many women today are just trashy whether inked or not. Maybe too many people are used to just seeing the classless human garbage with the butterfly on their shoulderblade, the tramp stamp on their back and the 3 ex boyfriend's names as well as the 2 'baby-daddy' names all over them. I have almost a 1/4 of my body covered & I plan on having a full body suit (basically, completely covered) but I guarantee I'm generally one of the most confident, intelligent, classiest ladies you'll ever meet.
  • no way you can still be very professional, respectful, etc. with tattoos
  • Ladies do not have tattoos.
  • I've got 4 tattoos.. and they're not raunchy or ugly or in any way disrespectful to anyone. I was never much of a "lady" .. but I don't believe I'm trashy or nasty for having a bit of art placed about my body.
  • I agree with Krissi Sixx - basically, it's the woman underneath that's trashy (but the nasty tats don't help). I have two, a bass clef on my inner left wrist and a treble clef on my inner right wrist, and I don't think they reduce my class - I carry myself well, and don't give anyone a reason to call me trashy. However, if having beautiful, personal art on my body makes me less classy in someone's eyes, then that's what it is, and that's fine.
  • I don't think 'class' has anything to do with it. So many people have tattoos these days that it is more the norm than not having one. I think some women look super sexy covered in tattoos. I personally wouldn't get a sleeve or anything like that but it really suits some women. It is an art form and if done properly and tastefully then it turns your body into a unique piece of art and isn't art supposed to be 'classy'?
  • I believe that classy is not your outward apperence..because the women that people consider classy or normally stuck up b****s. I think it is what your like on the inside...so for me i would say no tattoos dont matter its how you carry yourself and act.Though more people would probably disagree with me because they judge a womens classiness by how she dresses... peoples first thought when they see someone with alot of tattoos is dirty or troubled but thats not it at all...i personally think tattoos are a cool way to express yourself and make no difference on how classy you are.
  • I don't believe that has anything to do with being classy or trashy. The personality and how you carry yourself I believe makes you classy.
  • No. I wouldn't say that at all. It depends on the type of tattoo.
  • nah sometimes can even enhance the level of classiness.
  • Thanks for the answers everyone. Your answers have given me a new outlook on women that have tattoos.
  • the tattoo has to be classy and sexy, then its a total turn on,overdone its ugly annd trashy, unfortunatly when they age the tattoo does not age well with the skin+5
  • It depends. A lady having tattoo's only makes her less classy if she goes around flaunting the ones that should only be seen by her MD Gynocologist and s/o. Beyond that having tattoos in and of itself doesn't make a woman less classy. I'm sorry I know some men won't agree with me but I for one crertainly don't want to see a woman's titty tattoos I think any woman who falunts those or the ones just barely above her bikini line on either front or back end is trashy in my opinion
  • It depends were they are.
  • it depends on the tatoo, how big is is and where it is placed. a nice tatoo strategitly placed can be very sexy and very classy. a larger tatoo clearly visible is not classy. tatoos on the back that can be seen with a strapless dress are nice, ankle tatoos are sexy and of course a nice tatoo on the rear or above the pubic area can drive a lover crazy.
  • Class is in the content, not the cover.
  • Hardly
  • Yes. For the past 4,000 years, a tattoo has always meant "I'm sexually available." I consider tattoos, like piercings, to be body mutilation. No offense to anyone, but both tattoos and body hardware look cheap and vulgar to me.
  • the queen of England has a tattoo and she is a pretty classy broad.
  • Well, "lady", "classy" and "tattoos" do seem a bit oxymoronic, no? ;-)
  • I know a few tramps disguised as "classy" and they don't have tattoos. So no, I don't think so.
  • I think there is a difference between women with a full sleeve or women with a small tattoe. A sleeve looks cool but I absoletly do not like them on women. It makes them look like guys. Trying to act all though. If they like it they should take it, but it is nothing for me. I think it also depends what kind of tattoes someone has. That goes for both women and men. Big colorful tattoes, as in hearts with daggers through it and stuff like that can make you look very trashy. Though I think if a woman has a small tattoe it doesnt make her less classy. Classy is not about clothes or apearance. Someone who is really classy can even look good fold up in curtains. It is about charisma, the language you use, etc. These things make you classy.
  • I think a small tattoo can look ok. depends where it is.If it is always on show it needs to be small and discreet. That is a personal opinion. I went to a christening recently and one girl had large tattoos on both arms and was in a sleeveless dress. I am not at all religious but I felt it looked out of place.
  • If you're really lucky you'll end up looking like madonna. Is that classy enough for you?
  • i don't think so.
  • Does the skin and body maketh a lady? Would a beer belly not maketh the gentleman? I think not.
  • My husband. . . . 'ahem. . . . .would be APOPLECTIC with rage if I got a tattoo!
  • i dont think so, i have 9 and i dont feel any less classy! XD
  • hmm yeah its all about location location location haha here in australia, the least classy has to be the lower back, known by many as the 'tramp stamp'. but idn, up to you where to get it, also depends on what your looking at getting
  • depends on the tatoo, how big it is and where it is located. larger tatoos are not ladylike in my opinion. pretty dainty, feminine tatoos that are small and not overly done are sexy.
  • It is not for me to judge. However, if you put yourself in circles of people who have taken on higher education in their younger years, and have seen some success, they rarely have tattoos. Such people genearally are the job interviewers, and they control the gates to opportunity. So, if one wants to move into creative professions that pay well, a tattoo is not advisable.
  • Yep. Nobody wanting to be "classy" would have any tattoos. And definitely not visible.
  • Personally I think any tattoo kills femininity, especially with evening wear, just the thought of seeing a gorgeous dress on someone and then spotting the little butterfly on their shoulder makes me cringe, or God forbid something on their foot or ankle.
  • Three days ago, my wife and i were eating at a mexican restaurant. The food was great, but the waitress was not. On each arm were tattoos of demons. she also had metal in her nose. We almost left. Waitress was cordial, but her metal and tattoos almost ruined our meal. Tattoos and metal have their place in society. In a restaurant is not one of them.
  • Define class then I will answer after the debate for the definition of class is finished.
  • It used to more likely, but tattoos are so mainstream now that it is no longer the case.
  • Definitely.

  • i think it depends on the meaning and type of tattoo and where it is.. I have tattoos.. and i don't feel less classy and ppl still treat me the same..
  • The tattoos do not make the person. If you present yourself as classy with or without tattoos then you are classy.
  • I have lots... I can be classy or trashy. Depends on who i'm with and where we are because if I don't want you to... You will never see them
  • absolutly. the womon that has her tatoo shop, Kat von Dee has always been very beautiful to me. i couldnt figure it out because i dont like tatoos. but then i saw a episode where she got makeup on all her tatoos and she was ASTOUNDING! now i know why she was so beautiful to me i the first place. shes extreemly pretty but with tatoos she is just pretty.
  • When you can see them yeh. But a small one where you cant just makes for a nice surprise when you do
  • 3rd Answer. You have dated this woman for 6 months and you both decide to marry each other. A big wedding is planned. You are at the church waiting for your bride to be, to walk down the aisle. There she is, standing with her dad, ready to be your mate for life. Her wedding dress is beautiful. You look at her and notice something different. overnight, she has had tattoos applied to both arms up and down. You ask yourself, "what do i do?. do i accept the tattos for life with her or do i call off the wedding?". I know this is the extreme and probably would never happen. Its just to show that some people love tattoos and others do not.
  • No, I don't think so.
  • Yes. She is less classy.
  • Classy is about attitude not about what you look like. At least thats whats I think... Anyone who would think differently would be too shallow for my liking and I wouldnt want to know you.
  • She appears less classy.
  • Only to people who are prejudiced against ladies with tattoos.
  • varies from person to person...
  • Ask Kat Von D! :)
  • It depends on the tatoo and where on the body it is placed.
  • Depends on the tattoo ...and the lady.
  • In the eyes of many, probably yes but as it's already been said, it's highly subjective. There was a time in my life not even that long ago that I thought the same thing. I guess some might call me a fad follower, but I came around on tattoos only in past decade, and finally got my first 4 years ago. Tattoos have gained a lot of acceptance and I'll admit that plays a part for me, but honestly I'm not quite as hung up on class distinction anyway...life's too short to try to out-class everyone.
  • no....i dont believe so... i love them. i already have 15 planned out.. :D krysteelynn:) and dont even get me started on peircings :D i love em too
  • Placement counts. Getting a tattoo on your lower back, known as a trap stap, won't help you look classy.
  • A sexy tattoo on a nice spot nope :)
  • hmm interesting point. My boyfriend wrote that he loves me on my arm one day for a joke.Believe or not one of the customers COMPLAINED about it, saying it looks unprofessional. I can't believe it, how pathetic some ppl are all it said ' I LOVE CATHY' on my arm even upside down for the customers. Imagine if I had it as a permanent tatoo I'd have to wear long sleeves all the time wen in work. It's usually hot even in short sleeves....
  • Well, i find a woman with tattoos really sexy, and i definatley say it does Not make a women less classy, but then again, that sort of stuff doesn't really worry me
  • Nope, I'm a very classy lady and I have a tattoo of a dolphin riding a wave on my right ankle.
  • After reading all the responses above i have a lot to say. First off, I am 21 and I have two tattoos; one is fairly hidden and the other is in small writing on my foot. I think that certain tattoos on certain women can either look CLASSY or TRASHY, but in the end, if the process is well thought through and the person is well aware that they are forevermore projecting an image, by all means go for it!!!
  • no it's simply a declaration of one's self expression
  • I do not personally like permanent tattoos . I quite like the Henna ones that fade away. We all like different things and have different ideas about things I think I was really put off them when I saw two guys when I was at Uni. One had an enormous snakes head with fangs dripping venom about to strike on his face ,Apparently it ran the whole way down his torso wrapping around the body. Another guy had his head shaved and a spiders web tattooed all over his head and face with the spider They were not a pleasant sight.
  • ...hope not..because i have 5 lol ...only little ones, im not the tattooed lady or anything..:O)
