I worked in lawfirms for years. They are never fair according to the parties involved.

Depends on the divorce; some are and some aren't. If it's an amicable divorce, then yes, it usually is.

Fair I think not. The laws that dictate what happens in a divorce are out-dated and anything but fair. But then so are most laws. I have yet to see any person who went through a divorce feel they were treated fairly.

I have heard of one that ended up being fair, not mine though, he got 70% and I got 30% :( But, having said that it was well worth it for my freedom :)

I didnt contest my our devorce. Her girlfriend did it. Sign on the line. It was fair. i wish i coulda kept the house.

I wouldn't know from personal experience - my parents will have been married for twenty-one years on June 24. But from what I know about my friends' marriages it tends to vary. It depends on how good the lawyer is, and what the dirt is on each side.
