There's an alternative. I am lactose intolerant. I buy milk from a local dairy that has been pasteurized and not homogenized. When milk is homogenized it changes the structure of the fats and sugars making them difficult to digest. The pasteurized milk is easily digested and I can drink milk again. Better yet the cows are all grass fed and the dairy uses no hormones. The milk is often less expensive than milk from big dairy operations. Here in my part of Michigan it is available from Mootown Dairy but I am sure there are other dairies with a similar product.

I have never had Lactaid and I won't ..sounds like brest milk in reality .... Soy makes me cringe ... and is horrible on ceeral , in MY opinion .... So; I buy 2% Milk as 1% taste like water and regular milk is too fattening .

2% lowfat skim milk. (whatever that means? im still not sure!) but! chocolate rice milk is AMAZING.. its called Rice Dream, available at organic food markets. mmm. chocolate or vanilla soy milk is good too.

I buy lactose-free and soy milk on occasion. However, I mostly buy cow milk.
