  • That's not actually the case with me. I respect others opinions. There are always reasons behind someone's thinking.
  • becasue many poeple like to think their always right and other poeple are wrong, its human nature.
  • Why would someone be ignorant just because they think differently than I? Now, if there is a verifiable fact. And I state that fact. And someone disagreees with me because he or she isn't aware of that fact, *then* the term ignorant might be applied. Otherwise, no.
  • No, I try to respect others' opinions as I would like the same respect from them. Just because we disagree does not mean that they are ignorant. Ignorant just means that they are uneducated about the subject. Sometimes you could have a disagreement where the person is just not educated about the subject on which they are arguing. If they are too forceful or nasty about it then I might think they were ignorant. Only because they are #1 incorrect and #2 unwilling to listen to an educated perspective. But otherwise, no, I do try to give everyone respect regarding their opinions.
  • becasue many poeple like to think their always right and other poeple are wrong, its human nature. . . +++++++++ . . . Many people will address your from facts provided by the media as a source yet the Media lies like he11. So many people who believed they are informed are just usefeul idiots.
  • ....and when they agree with you they are brilliant! Its a weakness in human nature. That's why its probably a good strategy to pretend to agree with people while trying to bring them around to your way of thinking. You must have seen people do this.. :-)
  • Well, if the person is judging on anothers opinion they are totally using the word in the wrong way which would make them ignorant.
  • It's called self-righteousness
  • Ignorance is about not knowing facts and not having information. Some people can't tolerate another point of view. Those people are bigots.
  • One could be the most intelligent creature in the universe, yet if he or she could not effectively convey their ideas, they could easily be thought ignorant.
  • Usually if someone is, in fact, ignorant they do tend to think differently from me, but an alternative perspective on an issue is not cause for an accusation of ignorance, rather an opportunity to view things from an unfamiliar angle, and a revelation of my own limited knowledge.
  • Cos im ALWAYS right! oroight??
  • I was going to be a smartass and say "because you are" but it is such a good question that I have to be sincere. The bad part of human nature is that we always have to justify our position no matter how bad what we have done. This leads to thinking that we have to always be right. Otherwise, how can we stay alive? A self preservation hold-over from prehistoric man? (or today in some parts of the world.) The point is that we look at life through a filter system based on our own learning and experience and, unless the person is highly developed, anything that doesn't fit in the filter systme is automatically rejected. And, usually, the person presenting it.
  • It depends on what you think. If you think Mexicans are stupid, them most likely....you are ignorant. But if you believe in God and someone else doesn't, that doesn't mean you are ignorant.(That was just an example)
  • They are ignorant...that means they lack the knowledge to understand your position. Stupid means dumb..ignorant means lacking knowledge. All of us are ignorant about a lot of things. Once we get the information we are no longer ignorant. Being ignorant is not a bad thing because it can always be changed. Happy Monday! :)
  • While that may be the case sometimes, I wouldn't suggest that it is the norm.
  • No, as long as they have valid proof and they examine my point of view.
  • Well the word ignorant is not a bad thing... Ignorant means not yet educated on a fact. Stupid is what insults me... I take ignorant as what it is and learn what it is that is keeping me from being enlightened. When someone calls you stupid however... the implication is that no matter what you are ignorant of now... even after being taught, you will still be stupid. That just sucks... I'll take ignorant over stupid anyday!
