  • Anatomy is the study of the structures within the body, and physiology is the study of how those structures function. Often, as makes sense, these topics are taught in coordination with one another in an anatomy and physiology class. As for subdivisions, I'm not sure what you mean. The study of anatomy and physiology can be divided according to organ system, and the study of each organ system can be divided from the macro to the micro level. That is, within an organ system, you can study the structure and functioning of the whole thing, the individual organs within it, the structures within those organs, the cells themselves, and the organelles within those cells.
