  • Could it be done through a computer with voice recognition software? I don't know enough about computers to know how to do this, but I had a friend with a similar injury and she used some of that technology. She also had learned to do a lot of things by shrugging her shoulders. She had developed a lot of control of her arms with just the use of those few muscles.
  • she needs a cell phone with an earpiece or bluetooth. the phone can be set to automatically answer and will disconnect when the other person does.
  • There are several organizations that could help fund this accommodation, if the accommodation exist and is practical for her to use. Was she disabled before the age of 21? BDDS might be able to help fund. You can also check on waivers. They all have rules and criteria that must be met. You can find the organizations at fssa.gov.
