  • Seems the tank vent pipe is blocked. Check that the opening is clear and that the tube is not kinked.
  • i have the same problem with a 1999 ford taurus i have disconnected the charlcoal canister and check all vent pipes i have the question out for help when i get mine correct i will let you know
  • First, try a different pump. If the problem persists, then the internal venting system is clogged somewhere and needs to be looked at. Normally this involves taking it into a shop. It's hard to flush these systems since any water would end up in the gas tank. You would need to take the tank completely off to flush, or replace the filler neck.
  • I have a similar problem, when trying to fill it up, the pump keeps shutting off as though the tank is full. It stops about every 1/4 to 1/2 a gallon pumped. It does this no matter what station I stop at. Any Suggestions?
