  • As I recall, cyanide compounds interrupt aerobic respiration within tissues (e.g., the central nervous system, heart). A faint almond scent and hemorrhaging from the nose and ears are amongst the signs of some forms of cyanide poisoning. Under the circumstances, I can't imagine that it would "feel" very pleasant.   • 12-05-2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanide#Toxicity The -CN radical binds to iron, which means no oxygen goes noplace. Heart and nerves are the immediate losers. Death is within minutes, even from a small dose of this stuff. One thing new to me is that polyurethane foam releases this when burned. That is used in a lot of furniture and pillows.
