At this point it's just her word against yours. Does she have evidence that you stole money? By law, you are innocent until proven guilty. The burden of proof is on her, not you. Get your financial records in order, maybe call a lawyer for a consultation. Get character witnesses ready to go.
-
unfortunately, the cops will believe her, and you will get harrassed by the police. you need to tell the police first.
-
She's not going to the police, she's trying to fake you out. If you know the truth, and you did not do it, stand your ground.
-
what classifies as evidence? and i did so something of the sort but not the way she is telling people. also, it is long gone and the people have since moved. Are text messages saying i did it enough evidence?
-
don't give her money. this is called blackmailing. You can try reporting her for blackmail, or just tell her that by going to the cops she's risking getting herself charged for filing a false police claim.
