  • i would assume that NPO's and PO's would need to be planned based on the goal in mind. Taking your examples, the American Cancer Society would need to develop marketing strategies based on targeted demographics that are more likely to donate to a charity. Their underling PURPOSE is to collect their money for cancer research. So their main planning goal would be 'how do we show the public that their money helps on the way to curing cancer' In the same sense Coca-Cola also has a Goal and Purpose. Their goal is to create a marketing scheme that sells a product that appeals to a wide demographic, efficiently, and their purpose is to make shitloads of money on one heck of a mark up :D (coke has been damn good at that for years!)
