  • Presumably tuna fishing is meant to capture tuna for people to eat. Much like farming cows for their meat and milk.
  • the tuna gets killed so people can eat it. the dolphins get killed and nothing comes of it, since we do not eat dolphin. also some species of dolphin are endangered, but tuna is usually very abundant. if our society was accustomed to eating dolphin, there would be no problem.
  • All animals should be treated with respect and even though we eat them, treating them with that respect also extends to killing them humanely and without suffering. As we don't eat dolphins and they are shrinking in number, we should take extra care to make sure they aren't put at risk by this type of fishing. Wether its the size of the net, the clumsiness of fisherman, I don't know, but we need to find a way to stop it! The bottom line is this: Killing an animal only for it to be thrown back overboard or dumped somewhere is horrendous. If we kill an animal (accientally or not) we must make sure it is used somehow and not wasted.
  • Not when you're hungry! ;-)
