Yes, a chain link fence on a dare! It could have been a scene from the Christmas Story movie. My friend lived a block away and went to get water to pour on my tongue. But I ended up ripping it off before she got back. Oh... the humanity!
-
no cuz i knew what would happin if i did tha.
-
Oh yeah! Licking some snow off a pole, OUCH! I immediately leaned back. Never eat red snow either.
-
Ya, me and my friend thought it would be funny if i licked a frozen pole, it hurt like hell.

After watching the movie 'The Christmas Story' - my friends and I thought we would be so cool and try and duplicate (or see if it was possible) to get our tongue stuck to a metal pole (like what happened in the movie). We were very young and we tried for awhile but it didn't work. The next day, while walking to school, I saw my friend (one who was with us the day before) and his tongue was stuck to that same metal pole. It seems like he thought it wasn't possible, and just like the movie it took us forever to seperate his tongue from the pole. Any thoughts of doing that again myself was stopped on that very day.

No way....I saw that movie!!

Back in Canada, I never got the chance. I was always afraid of getting stuck. These days I dont find myself around many frozen poles in Israel, it hardly snows.
-
When I was 8 my friends and I had a competition to see who could stick their tongue out onto a lampost for the longest, I won, but only because it was stuck, I think I cried for hours after! P.s I dont do it nowadays!
-
Just for you mptaker. Happy Christmas!

I've done one better, stuck my tounge in some liquid nitrogen.

No, I didn't do it in the winter. Yes, I did get my tongue stuck to a metal object. Advice to all of you. Don't lick the metal scooper after using it on ice cream (the kind with the antifreeze liquid inside) because you will pull some tastebuds off of your tongue and it will hurt. I know from experience.
-
Yup. Older kids said it was fun. I was about 5-6. They were wrong. I remember it hurt alot, and it was very cold outside at recess time.

Yes. I was small and I wanted to find out if it was really true that your tongue sticks to cold metal. So I tried... I got stuck to the balcony railing and stood there for a few minutes considering my next move. I couldn't scream to my parents because the balcony door was closed, they were watching TV and couldn't hear me. And my whole mouth would stick to the railing. I decided to pull... It gave results, with pain as a side effect. For some weeks after I had to twist my tongue in previously undiscovered ways to endure the meals. But I learned what I wanted.

one time i stuck my tongue to a metal pole overlooking the falls in canada. I immediately found out that the rumor about canadians having diseases was very true. At first I thought nothing was wrong, my tongue had a peice of skin missing and it bled for about 20 minutes. Soon after, I began to lose the taste of certain foods, eventually I couldnt taste anything at all. In about a month after the accident I went to the doctor just to check and I found out I had to have my tongue amputated. I no longer have a tongue, therefore I can no longer taste foods no matter how many spices I put on them and it is very hard to do everyday activities. Talking is not even an option. I also was diagnosed with HIV, luckily it has not yet developed into AIDS. I also have gonnereha, chlamedia, and human papaloma virus. IF anyone you know has does this I advice them to get checked. Luckily I took a series of vaccinations that got rid of the Rabies in my system. Foaming at the mouth = not fun and NOT normal. good luck, godspeed.

Yup, we didn't cover the pool for the winter time and it froze over so we decided to ice skate on it, and I seen ice on the side of the pool, the metal cover sides that hold the liner in place and I decided to lick it and my tongue got stuck.
-
We dared one of my friends to stick her tongue on the metal shelf of a freezer, and she did.......and it did get stuck. She ripped it off, along with a few tastebuds we saw frozen to the shelf. Her tongue bled for a while afterwards. Quite a laugh though.
-
It's not that the tongue is literally stuck to the post but it does stick a bit , and when you pull it away it really hurts , i did it as a kid and it wasn't pleasant.
-
I believe it’s possible but don’t know anyone personally who has, however I got it stuck to an icicle but I melted it with my warm hands and it was all ok.
-
Mine got stuck to the inside of our freezer. I left some taste buds in there.
-
Not yet - although, every time I get into REALLY cold weather, I get tempted...
-
Nope but I have on one of those metal ice trays.
-
No, but I have licked a finger and stuck it to a frozen metal pole or pipe...I knew before that hands and fingers would stick so I knew never to stick my tongue to it. fingers come loose easier!
-
not after I saw A Christmas Story
-
No, not a pole. But it has been stuck to a freezer door. LOL My brother and I used to dare each other to do it in our grandmother's basement freezer when we were young.
