Sadly, in 1924, things like that were done. I am glad that society as a whole has moved past it. (Although there are some that still hold those beliefs).

I'm only 33 and I remember when I was in grade school and the Klan walked down the main street of my town and handed out flyers.

Reminds me of parents bringing their kids to church. Forcing their opinion on their child, before hes old enough to decide how he really feels about things. Its sad.

Well I think all of you know my stand on this subject!! the sad thing is that it is still going on. It seems that as long as parents teach racism..we will always have racism. I would like to say that I am shocked by this photo..but I am not. I was just watching a show about the History of the Klu Klux Klan and this still goes on:(:(

I think the same way of this picture as I think of people baptising children or using them as religious, political or corporate tools. I think it's disgusting. Children should never be used to promote these things, or be inducted into them until they are old enough to make the decision on their own when they are old enough to understand it fully and draw their own conclusions about whther they want to be involved in it or not.

Seems many saw the year, but what about the date? It said June 16. I'm not sure, but is that the date many of the black population refer to as Juneteenth, something like that? The day many years after they were freed the last of the slaves finally gained freedom. If so, may be more than a coincidence. If not, may just be reaching a touch.

i'm just glad it was in 1924 and not today. Not like that stuff doenst go on but I dont know anyone who is racist and thats a good start. I think people from the south that long ago grew up in a time when that shit was okay...and obviously now we know tolerance, or at least should.
