  • http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1s=IL&2s=SC Directions... What do you mean by 'get through it'...? are you afraid to drive alone or worried that your 1 year old is gonna drive you nuts? First you should get an oil change, check tire pressure and general check up for your car. Take a cell phone. Do you have AAA or some kind of roadside assistance? Break up the trip so you're not driving more than 7 or 8 hours a day and don't drive at night. Have your route well planned ahead of time. If you want to be EXTRA cafeful, let the people youre going to see in SC know your route, when youre leaving, where youre going to stop for the night, and when youre going to be in SC.... that way if you dont show up, it should be easy to trace you. However its a road trip, and you should have ZERO problems, especially if you plan a little. I used to spend a lot of time on the road to see my girlfriend in mexico... I once blew an engine at midnight in the middle of the desert with no one or town in sight. With a little prep, nothing like this should EVER happen to you. As for your 1 year old, bring some magazines... that was a joke.
  • Plan for it to take way, way longer than it would by yourself. Frequent stops are required and will be for many years to come. If you're comfortable with it, you might try a dose of benadryl.
  • DVD PLAYER! best 149 bucks we ever spent.
