I used to be. One idea strongly influenced me, though. What if everybody's RIGHT? I mean, there is often more than one way to reach a destination. There is always more than one way to communicate an idea. What if different religions or spiritual practices are really necessary to accommodate people of various backgrounds and levels of understanding? That idea gave me solace, so I stopped seeking the "right" or the "best", and settled instead upon what worked for or made sense to ME.

I can't say that any give me all my answers. I suppose that is where faith comes in. If all the answers were there and obvious to everyone...we would not be the individual persons..souls...we are. We would have no reason to seek and study...or look inside ourselves. I believe God has given us a road-map. But, we have to walk it on our own. There are obstacles and crossroads we must deal with, but, we would resent just being carried over all of them...at least, most of us. Life is a journey. I have been on it a long time now. I have been lost a few times. Not all the roads I have chosen led to where I thought they would. But I have become who I am by my searches. And I like who I am pretty much. I can shave in the mirror in the morning without being ashamed of who I see.

Well, I'm on my way to finding them but it may well take the rest of this life-time and, if there's life after death, most of that too!

Years ago I worked for an Architect. He was commissioned to design a place of worship that would accommodate people of all faiths. Thirteen of these structures were to be built in the U.S. He gave me the task of researching all the world's religions to find a common denominator..I did..The Golden Rule. That's the only such research I've ever done and I was asked to do it. Now, with regard to politics and psychology, philosophy, whatever..other than what I read in school, I don't research anything. What I do is think, evaluate, notice, observe life..my experiences, those of others. Some things resonate with me. I've never been desperately seeking anything. I have found a way of going through life that makes sense for me..I don't need to get it out of books or swallow what some "hot" guru tells me to think. It just evolves organically, slowly, without fanfare. :)

I am an agnostic I am seeking the truth but I dont go out of my way to do so....I certainly am not "despereratly seeking Susan" or anyone else. It will come to me one day.

I've been plagued all my life with (not fitting in) and I finally believe I know why. It's way to complicated to go into in detail here on answerbag, but the world is not what it seems and history is very blurry.

Sounds like me word for word.

research has left me with nothing but the desire to seek the truth... if it exists...I think it does not exist...so there are more questions than answers in this category...surprisingly the questions shot at you are from "religious" heads...

Hi, mistje, Karin B. here... I am rather searching than researching, which lets me go in a slower pace. Then I am content with what I find or what I can agree on, until I find more facts in another book, so I can adjust my belief system.....Nothing is real final for me.

I dont think any of us really know the answers we desperatly seek certain religions and phylosophies come close to explaining it to difrent people in difrent ways but i feel like if for some reason we need to know those answers we would be able to find them. maybe is like good girlfriends or keys and you just wont find what your looking for untill you stop looking.
