  • Oh yes I can go on and on even throw in some voices for each character. I find some of the children's stories kind of morbid so rather tell a good tale.
  • Browndog is going to kill me for sharing this. She and I sometimes pretend to be Ernest Hemingway and make up great stories. Especially when we are out on our boat.
  • Not really. I can read any story with great gusto and emotions but from the top of my head I can make up no story. If I already know a story I can hod anyone's attention making it quite dramatic.
  • You have to have a bit of a story built already, and you have to start telling it. What makes a good storyteller great is the DETAILS. It's like lying...if you add enough needless detail, people will believe. If you're still not sure what I mean, read the Bible. Some of the best stories ever told.
  • Yes. If the story is half decent it can be told wonderfully. I don't know what it is, but when you do it right...it shines.
  • Yes I can. I was born with the gift of gab. I have several stories in my head that I am trying to get down on paper. My family always gets me to tell the stories that have happened in our childhood. I love to entertain people and make them laugh or cry or just look at me like I've lost my mind.
  • Storytelling is a performance art. It requires facial expressions, good timing, vocal projection, use of different voices, basic microphone skills, and good strong body language. IMHO, these skills can be all be learned, and improved on, through practice and guidance. It's basically a short acting gig, like a monologue, only more fun to do. Anyone else ever hear of the Aladdin Storytellers League in Hillsborough, FL? I love to tell stories. It's how I keep my students engaged in the classroom.
  • Ole Tom Harley used to live up on a hill not far from town.He was wicked old man,and when he came into town he would wear a long coat, and a hat to cover his face.Every time a salesman would visit his place he was never seen again, and 2 mailmen have been missing, since they were on his route. Now they don't go to his house any more. The police have questioned him many times but have no proof of wrongdoing. He does leave treats at Halloween but only the brave attempt to go on his porch.
  • I am told people like to hear my stories. Get a group together, come buy, and let's have an evening of it sometime. I'll put the coffee on and Andrea will make popcorn. We might even build a fire in the fireplace.
