I am currently President of a Board of, what may best be described as, "community leaders." Yes, it is attached to a church. Our main mission is to feed the hungry, every weekday. We open our doors and serve a hot meal, no strings attached, everyday. I don't help so much in operations of this, I work, but still see to the funding end and stuff. We also give to community needs, like we're about to give $5,000 to the Red Cross to help flood victims in the area and also donate food, school supplies, and money to a other local outreach programs. And, some who read my other stuff on this board may be surprised to learn, we also have given money to help those with their prescription medicine needs (free medical care) and *gasp* COLLEGE TUITIONS!!! Not a full tuition, not a lot, really. Still, a tuition. (I just heard someone faint!) This is 100% funded through voluntary donations, no staff is paid or otherwise compensated for their work.
