  • You said it! :)
  • Unfortunately, that won't necessarily raise the level of discourse. One of the big cultural divides in America is which 'news' sources are considered credible and/or trustworthy. People from the 'Homeland' will dismiss anything from the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, etc. as 'fabrications of the liberal media'. Meanwhile, Fox 'News' will broadcast people who seriously assert that Sarah Palin being able to see Russia from her house makes her a foreign policy expert. I'm not sure how we go about bridging the gap....:-P... . . .
  • YESSSS! And I'll stop with the loaded questions.
  • Yeah, wow...Karl Rove of all people thinks things have gone too far? That's rich! Unfortunately, with every election, things just get nastier. I don't think there's anyway to stop to mud-slinging.
  • Where do I sign up? ...except, I think the ones that will answer this question are the only ones that give a rat's a** about this issue! :( The ones to whom such a question is naive and lacks "starpower/oomph/pizazz/ziss boom bah"..well, they're off at another rally cheering "The One" for whatever comes out of that mouth! :( However, I admire your grit, gumption, determination and eye- on- the- ball focus! :) ((hugs))
  • I'm with you on that, but we are paying the price for our First Amendment rights in combination with the internet. Any idiot can say something and post it without researching it. Then they call him or her a journalist and it gains legs. The system as it stands is sad. The liberals HATE Bush and don't want to go 0-3 in elections and the conservatives don't want to cede power. Both groups are looking at what divides during this election season and that is healthy, but it can't continue to be this angry and mean spirited. The Lipstick scandal was invented and Palin is NOT superwoman. We've got to get over the generalities and outright speculation and lies if we're going to move forward. Karl Rove saying things have gone too far has a distinct and ironic Pot and Kettle relationship.
  • That'll be the day. Mudslinging is a time honored tradition... Ummm... For some stupid reason?
  • Sign me up. It's gonna be difficult curbing my sarcasm, though. The political arena is RICH with targets to be lampooned, but the correct thing to do IS to lead by example.
  • Just a thought, but there are some people, maybe myself among them, who actually made an intelligent, informed decision based on fact, and having done so, just enjoy stirring the pot for the rest. Not sayin' this is. I'm a jus' sayin'.
  • Amen to that one.
  • Only when it inconveniences them. Otherwise, it's business as usual in Washington
  • Your question is intelligent and fair as usual. I will tag along with you to stick to the issues and back all posted information with serious links. I have done it since the elections became a huge issue here, I always back my posts with reliable and accurate links. Congrats mistje, you are brilliant!!! We should also agree to not answer questions based on lies and beheading of Senator Obama and should it be the case avoid answering also those against the Republican ticket. That would be more than fair and correct. If we can post backup links with denials to such allegations without personal comments then I believe that would also be a good idea. Thank you for your question.
  • karl rove is a ridiculous man. just a terrible spin doctor. heres a hilarious bit from jon stewart. dont know if you saw it from a month ago mistje. and yes, i wish they would stick to the issues and stop spinning everything. theyre twisted so to speak. heres the link: http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=184086&title=sarah-palin-gender-card
  • I don't know who Karl Rove is (I'm not from the USA) butI'm afraid you're at least fifty years too late. Issues haven't really been at the forefront in Presidential Elections throughout the part of my life that I can remember political campaigning.
