  • You can't write a comedy if offending somebody is an issue
  • Who cares if it offends prisoners?
  • good point Dirty-Ninja-Is-In-Sagedom55. They have commited a crime and to be honest you are quiet right. Thinking about this, I shouldn't have really posted the question and I should have thought about it more. Sorry guys! tjsayshello
  • read "one flew over the coocoo's nest" as long as you do not use a real persons name there is no issue to worry about
  • Well, Dick Clement and Ian Le Frenais managed to write a pretty wonderful comedy set in a prison, so if they can do it so can you: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/porridge/index.shtml
  • Thanx everyone, that's reat n probably all I need. One flew over the cuckoos nest is a bit scary at the end with im being like that, you know. But great help n I think i will most certainly write it.
  • I don't think it would be offensive. But different people find different things offensive. You can't really think that way though. No mater what you write, somebody out there will find in offensive. Some parents found Barney & Telletubbies offensive. A comedic prison movie has been made before. Have you ever seen Lets Go To Prison? Stars Dax Shepard. It was kind of a lame movie, but it had it's moments. You should check it out though.
  • Anything is subject to being parodied these days. I think your story line is pretty funny already. I am reminded of some of the Gene Wilder-Richard Pryor comedies. Or the TV show Scrubs which parodies hospital workers. If you are feeling that urge to write, I say GO FOR IT!
  • Write it
  • Why do you care if you upset prisoners? I mean, they commited crimes, some of them very heinous, and there is absolutely no reason to consider their feelings in any way when conducting your day to day routine, or when writing something intended to parody them. They're inmates, not free citizens.
