  • No. Forty-six years in New England, and we get a lot of fog. I've only heard of schools closing for snow, ice, floods, and broken plumbing. Never fog.
  • The author of this question, must have been tired when they wrote because they said snow days in the south.so the question is kinda upside down to begin with. (that is if the person is talking about the states)
  • No way haha I'm a new yorker and we deffinately wouldn't close for fog days in the city we barely close for snow days it has to be lyk a bliazzrd
  • Snow in the South? I don't think so. The kids down here may get out for hurricanes.
  • Not at all. There was many a day when I walked to school in the fog. The only thing we got days off for was blizzards. The most memorable was two weeks straight during the famous Blizzard of 77. (By the way, kudos on your avatar!)
  • Kids in the south, don't have "Snow" days, because there is no snow here... Kids in the south, have Pro education half days. They get out at noon on certain days during the month but we have no Weather days, if a hurricane happens, it is usually known days before and precautions are taken in the moment. Yup... Pro-education half days... Which mean absolutely nothing other than the teachers need a half day to catch up with all the bureaucratic, nonsense-additional paper work they are given for no other reason than to complicate and ruin the system so some other tool in Washington can have a desk to fill and a job to waste tax payer dollars.
  • hmm i live in the southern part of corpus and its constantly foggy.. but school has never been canceled due to it. hurricanes, storms, flooding... yes but not cause of fog.
  • No, I live in Illinois and we get pretty thick fog sometimes, but never fog days.
  • Tacit, I've been working in schools in on the New Jersey coast for 40 years--we have never had a 'fog day'. As you grow, one of the lessons you will learn is to be aware of BS--there's plenty of it around.
