Do you loathe Handel's "Messiah"? (for the music, not the message). Do you wish people would stop performing it every Christmas?

No I don't loathe it - it's one of my favourite pieces of music, any time of the year. It gets a little butchered when played as Muzak at the mall, though.

I don't loathe it, but I generally don't like too much of the music at Christmas because the tunes get stuck in my head.

I love listening to "Messiah." My favorite part is "And He Shall Purify." I sang alto on that song years ago. Do you know that Handel actually wrote the Messiah for Easter, not Christmas?
