  • Safe is relative. It would be safer if you ate foods with less saturated fat, ate more nuts and vegetables and exercised 30 minutes a day for at least 3 of 7 days in the week. Simply eating less salt will help.
  • Ask your doctor about the specific side effects of the drugs he or she is prescribing. Don't expect to get competent medical advice from an anonymous Internet forum, please! High cholesterol is already unsafe. And your doctor isn't going to "get rid of it", which would be impossible if you want to live. The intent is to lower it to a safe level. You should educate yourself better about your body and its functions.
