Ugh, please do some more research before you associate Wicca with Satanism. They are entirely different paths of belief, and so until you know what you are on about, you shouldn't be considering committing yourself to it. And no, I'm not a Christian, I'm a Pagan.
-
Wicca has some commonalities with Satanism, but not much. Firstly, Satanism is about self-gratification. Wicca is about balance - your needs and interests verses the needs and interests of the world around you. The Church of Satan is pretty much Atheistic. Wicca is not. Wicca has an ethical injunction to avoid causing harm (or to cause the least harm) whenever possible. Satanism does not, although the Church of Satan does have injunctions against any form of sexual coercion, harming animals for anything other than self-protection and food, harming little children, stealing (including credit), etc. In the end, it is up to you which path to take. Which path works for you? You can even try both and choose one or the other. I know Wiccans who subscribe to certain philosophies of both. You can choose neither. It is up to you.
-
I think that depends on you! You have got to do soul searching and find out who you are. Are you a believer in a deity, because if you are, then Satanism wouldn't be right for you... I think that is a crucial fundamental question you have got to figure out before making any kind of decision!
-
wicca is more fun. they have conventions. seminars.
-
Why choose? There's no reason not to pursue both.
-
"Choosing" a belief is a fairly retarded approach to faith. You believe something or you don't. And for what it's worth, they're both bollocks, in my opinion. As are all beliefs in fairytales.
-
Hey, both will get you to hell so what's the difference?
-
It sounds like you need to do some more research (not to mention soul searching) before making any decisions. Wicca and Satanism are quite different in their beliefs. I wonder that exactly it is about either or both religions that have attracted you. Perhaps analyzing that would give you a better perspective.
-
to be a satanist you are pretty much acknowledging the Christian God. to be a wiccan you can believe in the mother goddess and the horned god, or any of the gods in the pagan pantheon. their beliefs are entirely different. there may be similarities between the two, but any wiccan will tell you to absolutely not associate wicca with satanism.

Look inside, and you'll find your answer.

Do more research first. If you dig Satan--doubt you'll make a good Wiccan. If you want to find your spiritual purpose--I doubt you'd make a good Satanist. Satanism is for repressed Christians. Whine, whine, woe is me, my parents used to bring me to Church and make me dress nice, I'm emo and dark and special--I like to screw my path and attach astrals to me with stupidly cast magick--and if I call myself a Satanist, maybe people will respect me? Not only are they drama queens, for the most part, but consider this: Why would you want to align yourself (whether Satanists do so to this specific energy or not) with a divine energy thats most powerful thoughtform is known as the most vile and manipulative and ravenous mode of hatred in all the universe? Consider the fact that all Christians consider Satan this potent nasty--and whether or not Satanists follow him as such, what happens if you tap into the Christian Satan by mistake? Fucking stupid children. Great way to fuck yourself up magickally, if you ask me. So, if you are self-destructive--please become a Satanist. I'm an advocate of sterilization, natural selection and euthanasia. So, you'll be working toward my goal.

Both have their upsides
-
They don't have much in common at all as far as I know. Wiccans don't even HAVE a devil. Do some research before going into this, because you don't seem to know the big details. The only thing I think of that they have in common is that they're relatively new religions, and are considered alternative. And besides, you shouldn't pick a religion based on what our opinions are. I think Satanism is stupid, just because it was created solely to combat Christianity. And that's no reason to believe in something, just because it's the polar opposite of what you DON'T want to be associated with.
-
Go with Wicca. You'll be blessed and become that happy person, who lives inside of you.
-
Look at the fundamental beliefs and ways of life for people who follow each religion. Which ever one closely matches your personal beliefs and feels right in your soul or heart is the one for you, I don't believe that you can choose religion, a religion either makes sense to you personally or it doesn't.
-
having people pick your religion is the epitome of douchiness. seriously. Look in a dictionary under "doucchey" and you will see a guy asking people which religion he should be. be you. If wicca or Satanism happens to agree with who you are then the decision is easy. If you are making a decision just for the sake of labeling yourself, then you might as well slap a big ole "Summer's Eve" across your chest instead.
-
Doesn't matter it's not gonna last. You just want a fad to make you "edgy". You might as well choose scientology or mormonism. Or better yet save us the trouble of "giving a shit" enough to write an answer to this stupid question.
