What exact problems are you having, updating websites can be done a number of ways and depends greatly on how it was originally written. I wouldn't change anything on a website if you don't know the website very well, otherwise you can cause errors which could bring the website down or have undesirable effects. To see how a website is made, to see if you will have the knowledge to update it, click on 'View' In your web browser, and click on 'View Source'. That is the code that your website is based on, which is how it is updated most of the time.
