  • This is the first I've heard of a Canadian election. Do they have Canadian candidates that are against the free healthcare you guys have?
  • No, not strange. Deplorable and wasteful, I think, but unfortunately not a bit strange.
  • I do find it odd/strange. I actually really don't like how much time we have to think about this. It's way too soon.
  • I would find it more refreshing than strange. I find the incessant hype involved with US elections strange, to say the least. It seems obvious to me that the Canadians don't need months and months of name-calling, dirty tricks and innuendo to help them decide who to vote for.
  • Well, it's not a fair comparison - you're a civilized country. ;)
  • I don't think it's strange really. I'm used to not having a big soap opera. Seems our politicians are not quite as wasteful when it comes to spending money.
  • i think the difference is the role the US plays, globally. the ruler of the US has quite a bit more global influence (power) than the canadian p.m. am i right?
  • We like to turn hay in to Horse shit in the States the Ad Infinitum election process is not certified.
  • No, not one bit; the election systems are totally different. Canada didn't even know it was going to have an election until early September when Stephen Harper dissolved the Parliament. Didn't they expect elections to be held next October?
