a single core is going to process games slower versus a dual core How much room is left on the HD? the closer a system is to the 10% margin of being full the harder it is on them Is it all games or just a certain game? if by chance its just one or two games, then they could be corrupt or bad web site you dealing with etc. This one is just a maybe depends on how new system is and conditions PC sits in. When is the last time inside of case was cleaned, dust and lint built up can cause major problems on cards, heat build up etc. sorry I not more clear, as it could any number of things

If it's YOURS it's because you have a LOT of programs running, using memory and CPU. (Have a lotta icons in the system tray by the clock?) How many Processes are you running? THAT can do it, too. The site from which you're downloading may have a slow server, or be hit hard by others downloading games at the same time, and be slow. You could also be downloading THROUGH a slow server. If you think this is the case, stop the DL, and start it again. It may move faster. If not, it isn't your computer or anywhere in between.

I would have to say your Processor is the bottleneck in that system. I went dual core and never turned back. I wont build a single core rig anymore. I went the Intel route as they are kicking tail lately in performance, but AMD is still a great manufacturer. so whatever your preference, AMD is alot cheaper than Intel, I still don't know what socket type you have on that MOBO. Ill be playing assassins creed and all of a sudden My antivirus pops up saying scan complete try that with a single core.
