  • Yes, stupid little hillbilly kids at the High School I went to. Bunch of a-holes. All the more reason I never talked to anyone in H.S.
  • There were a few distant relatives that I heard say it before. And then there is my stepdad who has said it more than once. I like the guy most of the time, and he's married to my mom....but sometimes he can be a big redneck. Which is sad because my stepsister has always dated (and was once married to) black men, and has two bi-racial daughters. I hope he doesn't slip up and drop the "N" bomb in front of them one day!
  • unfortunately...my small town friends say it sometimes...I HATE it and they know not to say it around. I've made that abundantly clear. My boss says it too!
  • Take it for what it's worth, but when I was a teen that word was just normal conversational words. That, certain words to describe homosexuals, and slang body parts amoung other things.
  • Too many times. I'm always shocked and disappointed when I hear it used, even in rap lyrics.
  • I've been called it, 'a' and 'er' aswell as heard it used in hate, and jest.
  • Yes and I addressed it immediately...I will not be in the presence of anyone who talks degrading about any group of people....
  • Yeah, all the time. It seems common almost.
  • Way to many times.
  • Nuclear? Nudist? Natural? Nitrogen?
  • I'm an 'N', you're an 'N', he's an 'N', she's an 'N', wouldn't you like to be an 'N' too? Come on people. There's nothing wrong with being a 'N'erd as long as you use your talents for the good of mankind.
  • A lot. That word has seem to have lost a lot of its former meaning.
  • Only when I was on Yahoo Answers.
  • yes, and No Beer pissed me off.
  • Every now and then someone will say it around me. I usually don't address it and pass it off as ignorance. It does leave an impression of the person from then on though.
  • Keep in mind that words only have that power over us which we ourselves grant. When people use derogatory language in my presence, whether racial, sexist, agist, or whatever, I usually begin a lengthy analysis of why they feel the need to denigrate others ( it's usually prompted by a lack of self-respect ). They often get irritated at me, but I guarantee they will remember what I said the next time they use derogatory language to describe someone.
  • Yeah, people have. I've said it myself - Never offensively or to insult, but for christ's sake, It's just a word. You shouldn't be afraid to say it if you're not insulting anyone, nor trying to demean anyone, then don't arse about with this "N word" Nonsense. It is your (yes, you!) fear of a simple word that keeps it offensive - Case in point, Damn. Remember when Rhett Butler saying "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." in gone with the wind? Back then, That was serious business - it was even vastly worse than if it was a modern movie and he had said "Frankly, I don't give a F**k." Think, damn you all.
  • Yes, especially when I was in high school.
  • Yes. I've had people of 4 different races use the word in front of me.
  • Lots of times. It makes me more angry when people describe someone of African descent as an "N," just using the letter. Does that make it better? I think it makes it worse because they are acknowleding that the word is loaded, but they are using it anyway.
  • Yeah, plenty of times.
  • OMG! Every time my sons friends come over, they say "Wassup niggah?" It's just a phrase they use, but I have told them it's ignorant. Does it stop them? Hell no. But, in their defence, they call each other that, and nobody else. Clearly, they don't get it.
  • yes, i hear it all the time lol
  • lots of times!
  • Nuclear? Neutron? Uhhh nope. I wouldn't be here to reply if they did. . Nitro? Nope.
  • oh yeah. all the time. it's unfortunate, really. i live in the boodocks in the south though.
  • Oh yes, when I was a child the babysitter with her 2 big boops(LOL)
  • Yes, lots of times, unfortunately. I heard the word for years before I even knew what it meant. We used a rhyme as kids, a version of eeny, meeny, miny, mo, which used the word, and I used it without knowing what it meant; I thought it must be a type of elf or fairy or something...
  • Many times, unfortunately. I, however, am quite good at helping people understand the error of their ways. : ))
  • I'm in Tennessee so yes all the time, but it's has gotten a lot better. I not talking about the "What's up my n" stuff but the old fashion N. It is getting better.
  • All the time. All of my Teens freinds are Black. And we live in GA. Happens all the time. OH, you mean from an outsider, other than each other. Hell no. You'd get shot before you finished the word.
  • I am 46 so that is an affirmative. I insist that if someone wants to be in my vicinity that they do not use that word or other bigoted slurs. I do not like them. I had an ex who would jokingly use that word. I insisted that she not use it in my presence... period. I have even been called n*gger despite not being black and being pale for my ethnicity. I guess it is part of that "mud people" thing that the KKK and white supremacists have going on. All dark-skinned ethnicities are "mud people" (even if the specific individual of a dark skinned ethnicity is pale for that ethnicity) so some of these bright bulbs call member of other "mud people" ethnicities "n*gger." When I was called that I am afraid that I broke down into gales of... ... laughter It kind of spoiled the mood for them. Geeze, if you are going to play "name the mud person" get it right, there, sparky.
  • Yeah I've been called one quite a few times and I'm white. I hear the N bomb dropped probably like 3 times a week these days. I used to be a lot worse but nowadays I don't tolerate racism unless some friends and I are joking privately.
  • Yup. We were in lunch and someone popped a bag and as soon as the bang sound went off, some guys started yelling: "N" down! They should have gotten in trouble, but besides some people looking at them, no one payed it much mind. I think its wrong...
  • what? like said 'nigger'? or 'negro'? or 'nigga'? does that really still offend people, seriously? yes, im a cracker, whitey, honky, whatever. im white. and in no way does that bother me. no offense, im the farthest from racist. i hate everyone equally.
  • Sure, my own father would use the word a lot, very disturbing to have it yelled during some conversation, but then again, he really had a bad temper. Still does.
  • yes, but I dont let it get to me because it shows their ignorance. I really dont know any niggers, black people, or african americans. i am brown, so are my parents as well as my siblings, i have never seen a real black person only variations of brown, i dont know any africans and never met a nigga or a nigger(where can you find these niggers i have heard so much about?), and for these reasons people can drop the "N" bomb all day maybe they will eventually blow up.
  • yes, all too often
  • Yep and I set them straight!! grrrrrr
  • Not so often since my father died.
  • So much that it now sounds disgustingly commonplace.
  • surprisingly colored people themselves at least 4 diffrent people. i had a colored guy tell me he would rather it be said with him then behind his back. besides not to sound racist but they say it why cant we all?
  • planty of times....y do u ask??
  • I was at the airport with my father, who is extremely racist, and there was an old black woman using crutched going slow, so he yells out, "Get out of my way nigger!" And stomped past her. I turned red and didn't want to be seen with him. Hahaha.
  • I grew up in the 1950s and 60s hearing it all the time in every place I lived. We moved around a lot. Now not so much with the exception of blacks using it.
  • Yes, but I made them pick it up again. I can't abide a litterbug.
  • It praticly replaces all nouns here in NYC.
  • sometimes i dont see a problem only when there are black ppl in the room or around ...
  • Alot in highschool
  • Yes I use it all the time but not directed at African Americans. I use it towards all the perfectly capable people the just flat out refuse to work and sit on their ass and collect my tax money, I do not care if they are black, white, yellow, green or purple. If you can work get a job (once teh economy picks back up anyways)
  • My African American friends...all the time
  • Loads of times, yes, black guys refer to eachother that way so i don't really understand why white people cannot use that word also in a friendly term, makes no sense to me.
  • yes, it happens far more than i care to admit. in my younger days it was the cause of several fights.
  • Yes, all the time. By black people. and I mean CONSTANTLY. It is rare, to the point of shocking, to hear a white person use it. I can count on one hand the number of times i've heard a white person use the N word.
