  • When they actually start going places to ground them from...
  • My question is, what does time out accomplish? The child sits idly with no direction or redirection. 5 minutes facing a wall and what becomes of it. Just something to think about.
  • I dont do time outs for 5-10 minutes. I punish for long periods of time and ground her from her favorite toys.

  • 12 because they are starting to go into their preteen years and they will want to start going places. They need to know that they only have so many more years and need to be held responsible for their actions. since they are growing and hopefully becoming more mature and responsibe they should be able to handle the transition from a timeout to a grounding.
